If you guys keep up with the WWE, chances are you follow a few of the wrestlers on Twitter. This morning WWE champ CM Punk started his morning tweets on the topic of same sex marriage. The tweets on such a controversial topic immediately got some backlash towards the WWE wrestler. Now, if you’re familiar with WWE, you know CM Punk isn’t necessarily one to be shy about sharing his opinions. His personality added with a few stupid replies from fans give me the reason I’m writing this.

Now while I think it is very admirable to believe so strongly in what you believe in, I do have to point out a few things. Later on in the day Punk was still replying to tweets about the topic posted earlier in the morning. A user had posted “Man was meant for woman, and even the thought of homo’s make me sick.” and Punk replied simply with “Kill Yourself”. Now, don’t get me wrong, what that guy said was very insensitive, but to tell them something like that doesn’t make you any better than them.

I don’t even care really about either of those posts at all actually, what I have a problem with is that we’ve heard him talk about how he’s made fun of or criticized for what he believes in, but as soon as someone doesn’t agree with his point of view, they’re totally wrong and should go jump off a cliff. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, that’s why it’s called an opinion. To criticize anyone’s opinion for not being like yours is just childish to me.

I think what makes it worse is the fan girls that go on and on about how Punk is so awesome for telling that guy to kill himself. No one should be considered awesome for telling someone to kill themselves, especially over something as small as a tweet on Twitter. Ladies, if you’re truly a fan of CM Punk’s then you should recognize when he makes mistakes and not shower him with praise because he’s effing CM Punk. It’s the same kinda thing that we saw with the Chris Brown fan girls saying things like “Chris could beat me anytime! ;)”. Just because someone is in the spotlight, doesn’t make them immune to being human and occasionally saying things they probably shouldn’t.

Now, don’t take this the wrong way, CM Punk is a stand up guy for the most part. He loves what he does and has his morals set. However, he still needs to understand that not everyone is gonna have the same opinions as you. Especially, on the internet where we all know a bunch of geniuses live. *Tries to hold in laughter*

Anyways, I just wanted to share my thoughts on this whole thing. Don’t get all angry at me alright Punk fan girls. I was merely sharing my opinion, you have yours so let me have mine.
